Quito is the capital and largest city of Ecuador, located in Ecuador’s Central Andes at an altitude of 2,850 meters above the sea. The first Spanish community was established in 1534 at Quito near to an important Incan village of the same name.
The Quito’s Historic Centre is one of the largest, best preserved and least altered in America according to the UNESCO, and was the first city on earth to be declared World Cultural Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1978.
