Tour Mindo Cloud Forest

In the early morning, we will travel to the Mindo Valley, a mountainous watershed in the western slopes of the Andes Mountains. The route from Quito to Mindo is fascinating, offering a fantastic view of the old-growth forests, characterized by its unique ecological features and rich flora and fauna. The first stop will be at the Pululahua crater, possibly the only inhabited crater in the world. Then we will continue our journey to the small and touristic town of Nanegalito, famous for its typical food. After leaving Nanegalito we will arrive at Mindo after a 30-minute drive. In this place we will visit a famous orchid garden and a butterfly farm, where you can see more than 1,200 species of butterflies, and learn about the entire process of metamorphosis. Many hummingbirds and other endemic birds can be seen in this place. Our next visit will be at a Chocolate Factory, to taste and admire the production of different types of chocolate. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey and visit the Mindo river, the tarabita, the Nambillo Waterfall, and the Sanctuary of Waterfalls. The cable car (known locally as the tarabita) was constructed to help tourists admire the forests of the Mindo Nambillo Ecological Reserve soaring more than 100 meters above ground.
