DAY 1: QUITO / GUAYAQUIL

Transfer to the selected hotel in Quito. Accommodation.

DAY 2: BALTRA – MOSQUERA

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to the Galapagos Islands. Arrival to the airport of Baltra – Mosquera Island. Disembarkation on Mosquera Is., located between North Seymour Is., and Baltra. The Island is a long narrow strip characterized by its white sand, stones, and sea wells. This area was created by geological activity, and has a flat appearance instead of a conical shape, commonly observed in other islands of the Archipelago.

DAY 3: ISLA ISABELA: Punta Vicente Roca – ISLA FERNANDINA: Punta Espinoza

Panga ride through Punta Vicente Roca, characterized for having 2 separated coves. Furthermore, this tourist site has a large bay with spectacular marine life that allows visitors to observe sea horses, sea turtles, manta rays and puffer fishes. On the other hand, Espinoza Point is a spectacular sand and rocky trail, where it is possible to observe lava flows and big colonies of marine iguanas.

DAY 4: ISLA ISABELA: BAHIA URBINA – CALETA TAGUS

Urbina Bay: We will have a walk to observe calcareous organisms -shells and corals- that are visible above the water, and also great colonies of land iguanas, Darwin’s finches, tortoises, and flightless cormorants. Tagus Cove: In the upper part is located the Darwin Lake, a round crater of salt water; during the journey, it is also possible to observe palo santo trees. We continue our journey through a dry vegetation zone, where it is possible to observe panoramic views of the Darwin and Wolf Volcanoes.

DAY 5: PUERTO EGAS – SOMBRERO CHINO

Egas Port (also known as James Bay Beach): this place characterizes for its dark sand, and for being home to endemic animals (found nowhere else in the world), like the Galapagos Hawk, Galapagos Lava Lizards, and Galapagos fur seals. During the day, we will walk through a rocky trail towards the Galapagos Salt Crater to observe Darwin’s Finches, Galapagos hawks, marine iguanas, sally lightfoot crabs, seals and sea lions. Chinese Hat: We will have a 200-meters walk to observe the lava tunnels and Sesuvium plants.

DAY 6 ISLA SANTA CRUZ: ESTACIÓN CHARLES DARWIN – AEROPUERTO DE BALTRA – LIMA

On the sixth day of the tour, we will go towards the Charles Darwin Station to observe Galapagos tortoises and learn about their behavior and reproduction. The station is part of the Charles Darwin Foundation, an international non-profit organization operating since 1959 dedicated to the research of the Galapagos Islands. After this visit, we will go to the Baltra Airport to take a flight towards Guayaquil, and then to Lima-Peru. Once arrived at Lima airport, we will transport you to the hotel. Alimentation.

DAY 7 LIMA

On the seventh day of the tour, we will go to the Lima’s Historic Center to observe the colonial buildings and local attractions like the Plaza San Martin, the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace of Peru, the Basilica and Maximus Convent of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, the Central Bank Museum, and the Municipal Palace of Lima. Furthermore, we will visit the catacombs and the Basilica and Convento de San Francisco, one of the main demonstrations of religious art and architecture in colonial Latin America. Later in the day, we will visit the Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum, which owns the largest collection of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. Accommodation.

DAY 8 CUSCO – VALLE SAGRADO

Transfer to the airport of Lima to take a flight to Cusco. Once arrived in Cusco, we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Awanacancha (“The Palace of Tejidos”), a village dedicated exclusively to textile art. We will learn here about the process of the handmade products of the zone. Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the instruments used since time immemorial. Later in the day, we will visit the Pisac, a market where barter took place, and a famous ceramics workshop to learn about the process of elaboration of handcraft pieces. Accommodation.

DAY 9 SALINERAS DE MARAS - OLLANTAYTAMBO

Early in the morning, we will visit the unique and beautiful town of Chinchero, its main square, and the artisan products made here. The next visit will be at Salt Mines of Maras to admire a fantastic view; the mines are located 31 miles in the northeast of Cusco City, at an altitude of more than 3.000 m.a.s.l. Later in the day, we will take the route towards Ollantaytambo, a town constructed to protect the Inca Empire from invasions. After this visit, we will take a train to the enigmatic and centenary city of Machu Picchu, and the Aguas Calientes town. Accommodation.

DAY 10 MACHU PICCHU

Early in the morning, transfer to the bus stop to go to Machu Picchu; after a 20-minute trip, we will arrive at Machu Picchu, a World Heritage Site, and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. This historic sanctuary is probably the most astonishing urban creation of the Incan Empire. Here, we will visit the Main Square, the Round Tower, the Intihuantana (an astronomic clock), the Palace of the Princess and the Temple of the Three Windows. In the afternoon, we will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train to Cusco. Accommodation.

DAY 11 CUSCO - LIMA

Early in the morning, we will walk along Cusco to learn about the history of this Andean centenary city, but also to visit The Plaza de Armas, colonial churches of baroque style and wooden carved balconies, ancient ruins, and archeological remains. Later in the day, transfer to the airport to take the flight back.
